I never loved the tassel detail on the Mini Lou because it makes the bag heavier than it already is, and more cumbersome as it can get tangled with the chain strap.
A couple of things to consider: 1) The black and gold has a high contrast with a very visible YSL logo. The beige and gold has a much lower contrast, with the YSL logo looking more inconspicuous and more subtle. From a distance I probably could see the gold YSL logo easily against black but not as much against beige.
