I saw a YSL 646 for sale online. I've never heard of that before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Yamaha trombones have always confused me. Do you think it was a typo (446)? What is the 646? Is it a pro horn? What's the bore size? How much are they worth?

Many students prefer medium bore vs. large bore .547 because it is an easier transition, and is more versatile for all styles of music, band, orchestra, small group, jazz. Current model Yamaha such as YSL-640 sell for over 00 today. The 448 is a Yamaha design which isn't to say it's bad but the 400 series generally have heavier bells which can be harder to play on, or at least can be in my experience. I have a 646 bell which I suspect is similar to the 648 bell albeit in red brass and it's a very easy blow.
This Yamaha YSL-646 F trigger trombone is in very good condition and has 80-85% of the original lacquer remaining with light general player wear. There is some lacquer scratching through the horn.
